What a wonderful and funny seasonal story! For those of us who bounce between the inner LG critic in our head, and the keener Christmas host/guest, we know perfection is just a concept that appears only in a faraway place called Shangri-la. Yet we try, year after year.
Why, two days ago, I was rushing to bake shortbread cookies while pleading with a chat bot online to fix a computer issue before my next meeting. Guess what? I forgot to verify the oven temp (yes, LG, I should have double checked). The result? Let’s just say instead of beautiful shortbread cooked to golden perfection, the hue was more burnt toast brown. Sigh.
With this post, it was fun to hover 10,000 feet above someone else’s life to see first-hand how funny/silly we are to allow inner tyrants to push us so hard at this time of year.
