In this episode, Cathy explores the annual ritual of the January do-over. She explores the dark side to do-overs and to the unending quest for that ideal future self.
She talks about how “project ideal you” can be a form of perfectionism that not only sets you up for failure but can end in you unfairly berating yourself for a lack of motivation of discipline.
Start here, invites you to a subtle but profound shift in thinking about how to create a fresh start in 2022.

Could I ask you for a favor? If you are enjoying the show, I would LOVE it if you would leave me a review on Apple Podcasts. Never done a review before? It's easy. Click here to review, then select “Ratings and Reviews” and “Write a Review”. I read each and every one. Thanks so much!
Coffee in hand, check. Calm surroundings, check. Great start! This podcast was an interesting deconstruction of the New Year’s resolution ritual that often unravels quickly as the year picks up momentum. Thanks to your insights I realize one slip isn’t a big deal. We can press the restart button any time. Well done!
Thanks Gina! Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Cathy
Thank you for this opportunity to start my Sunday morning with you. I loved the podcast. I would like to do a review of it but when I follow the link I don’t understand what it is I need to do to write a review. I clicked on most of the page but nothing popped up I could write on. My sense is that this “Leave a Comment ” space is not the review space as there is no stars to click on to indicate a rating of satisfaction.
A suggestion – in your description busy professionals…. and creatives, you neglected to include changemakers – the activists, animators and advocates of the world engaged mostly in a volunteer capacity need a mention. too.
You are so welcome Kathi! Thank you so much for subscribing. And thanks for the feedback. Of course, I’d love for this content to support the changemakers out there. Please stay in touch and keep offering the feedback.
