As a retired teacher who spent over 30 years trying to convince students in a classroom to “live in the now” of a 40 minute lecture, I found this podcast most insightful. It’s true that some people are constantly restless and looking for something new while others are content to navel gaze. A balance, achieved with intention, can perhaps lead to a sense of purpose with contentment. Food for thought.

Admittedly, at work, I’ve been a a slave to those never-ending To Do lists. And I never seem to catch on that as soon as one task is done, another one arrives. While in my personal life, I plan lightly, but save room for spontaneity, especially when I travel. That’s how I got an invitation to go night snorkeling in the coral reefs of Belize – and what a vivid memory! I think it’s a matter of finding a good balance.
It’s interesting how we can find the right balance in one context and struggle with it in another. I love the notion of “planning lightly”. Thanks Gina.
