How Positive Beliefs About Aging Can Improve and Extend Our Lives

Can your beliefs about aging impact how long you live?

According to Becca Levy, a Yale professor and researcher, the answer is yes!

Levy pioneered the study of the impact of age beliefs on health and longevity. Using the Ohio Longitudinal Study on Aging and Retirement and corresponding mortality data, Levy discovered that participants with the most positive views of aging lived, on average, seven and a half years longer than those with the most negative age beliefs.

In this episode, I share some of her remarkable findings and explore how positive age beliefs can improve cognition, functional health, and even longevity itself.
